TZ's Christmas post - Minimal Design

Friends, havent posted anything for a while. I am just enjoying my break from work.
I have finished a little holiday project just today. Will post it in a few days.

But meanwhile, I have seen a very cool thing on the web.
Simplified and minimalised product packaging from Antrepo. The projects name is “Minimalist effect in the maximalist market”.

Which one is your favorite and would you even prefer compared to the original design?

The safest bike lock, by Conrad

Screenshoot 9.12.2010
Some of you Germans might have seen the new commercial from the electronic shop Conrad, where this guy lets a robotic bike lock pull his bike up a street light..?!
Here is the making of, of the bike lock! So cool! I'd love to have that for my bike. For your interest, at the end of the video is the real commercial, which is on German TV!

thx Eric for forwarding the link to me!!

TZ likes Retail Store Interior

This might be a topic for a series here on my blog. Because on a small place like a retail store you can do so much to address and strike the customer. The is post NO. 1 of the topic.
I hope you like it and want to have some cool stores as this one around your place.

Store number one uses paper planes on the whole ceiling as a decoration or art, however you want to see it. You want to guess how many planes they used?!...around 5000. Unbelievable.

Well, I just remembered that this post is actually NR.2, since the post about the NY coffe shop might be NR.1 and has been picked up with good feedback by some of you.

PS: Daniel, I really want to have some life pictures from NY :)

And dont think that they have bought all those paper planes as you can see in the video below:

How news would look like, if invented today...

Imagine a world without newspapers till NOW. Year 2010. Dezember. And now imagine some people invented the newspaper, just now. 3 days ago lets say instead of 150 years ago. Can you imagine how it would look like?

The guys from Bonnier thought about that. Here is the result:

Jay-Z's "Decoded" Promotion

Jay-Z's new book "Decoded" is out and available since this November.
Well, to reach all those people out there who have not heard of it, the agency droga5 has come up with some great marketing ways.
They basically printed passages or sentences from the book on the bottom of a pool, on a car or on a table-cloth in a restaurant.

In my opinion, this is a great way to adress the target group not just visually, but also emotionally. I hope some other authors or companys will pick this idea up and maybe even develop it further.

Great Video Animation adressing US issues

Great video animation. The animation is for a documentary called "Waiting for Superman" which adresses some issues in America! Really good stuff!

TZ likes USA Type Map

I am back from a little study break. Exams for college are finally over and I can relax now. SOOO GOOD. Just found this and loved it immetiatelly. A map made with type, the citys and states names. So cool and a lot of work. How would that look with a map from Germany??

The print is 61 $, but I am much more interested and making my own type map.
Available boldandnoble.

D’ESPRESSO Cafe Bar in New York

This is where I wanna sip my Latte or my Espresso regularly, like daily.
Probably one of the cooles coffee bars I have seen:

D'Espresso Cafe Bar in NY City!!

Responsible for this are the architects and designer from Nema Workshop.

The interiour design is just incredible. They just turned the world upside down. Applying a library concept in a perverse point of view to a bar, brilliant.

Close to the bar, which is located on Madison Avenue, is the Bryant Park Library where the architects got some inspiration from.
The wooden floor on the left wall and the bookshelves of the library on the floor in a sepia colored tone. Even the lamps come out the right wall. I just love it.

What about you?

Jawbobe Products - Headset + Speaker

I just stumbled over these two products from Jawbone, and think they are pretty pretty cool/awesome/great!
The Bluetooth headset has an automatic build in Noise Killer and the Jambox is designwise as well as functionwise a hit! Love those products and since I never use a headset, I want the Jambox for Christmas :)

Alphabetic Bookshelf

This piece was made to be blogged about on my blog. No just kidding, but I love it. You can't really store much, but it just looks cool!

Minimalist LED Lamp

My friend rico asked for some lamp designs, because he basically needs a lamp, or two. This is a lamp I would def. put on my desk.

Do you know any more good lamp designs?

This PRATT LED Table Lamp is available for 129 and darn good looking!

TZ likes Harvest Single Speed Bike

Philip Stolte is the maker, owner and mastermind behind the Harvest store in Munich, which opened in 2009. It is ranked amongst the top 50 men clothing stores in Germany. By the pictures ( I have not been there yet) I would say, they have deserved it.

He has made a bike collabo with Geheimrad, a German manufacturer. It is a beauty.
